PROJECT : ANALYSIS OF HBP SPACES (Composition)
DATE  : 17th OCTOBER 2011
SUBMISSION DATE : 24th OCTOBER 2011

Analysis of HBP (Housing,Building and Planning) Spaces is last project in communication skill. In this project , student should be able to snap a picture of HBP building and apply it in analysis map (information, promotion or )
An information of HBP such as position, structure and building facilities, traffic, topography, environment, program , history and all information related to HBP. Here, are some picture that I applied on my analysis.
'office or we called drum of HBP'

The only three picture I applied in my sketches are studio and office while the rest I only stick due to the limited spaces to sketch.
YES to ART

I started doing this project on 2.00 am and it turned me like a Ghost. Yeah. Finally I became a Hantu Balik Pagi (another acronym of HBP) :)

1ST thing I would like to draw is Office or famously called as a Drum. I enjoyed coloring the drum using oil pastel. Just a few color scratches  then I rubbed with a tissue to look smooth.

Sketching process is continued by the main map of HBP. For this map, I painted it using watercolor and shade it like a 3d map.

main map of HBP.. the arrow show that the shade of map that looked alike a 3d buildings.

Next step is sketching a studio and again, I color it using oil pastel then rubbing with tissue.
Can you see that ? sketching studio.

The lessons I got when doing this project (read the quotes at the picture)

Everything was totally done. The next step is stick the picture of HBP buidings. There are 4 main building in school of HBP.. E08, E38, E40, E49.
  • E08 : Studios and Information Room
  • E38 : Researches Room
  • E40 : Main Office, Lecturers Room. MSc Studios and Surau
  • E49 : Lab, Access Centre, Lecturers Room.

LABELL THE MAP /PICTURES  AND DO SAME ANALYSIS( INFORMATION):

The last step is writing the main title.

~DONE !!!~

THE FEELING WHEN DOING THIS PROJECT : Enjoyable. It only takes about 8 hours to  accomplish. I used all space in the room and it was crowded with my art stuff.

It was mine. I make the floor going worst- looked .

THE MASK

PROJECT : 5 THE MASK (speculative)
DATE : 14th OCTOBER 2011
SUBMISSION DATE : 17th OCTOBER 2011

This project is fun but it takes time especially to dry the papier mache. Students are not allowed to use dry clay. The process involved are :

1.  Use butter paper as the 1st layer and then stick the  tone of  tissue on it.
2. After that, put A4 paper as a third layer to cover rough surface.
3. I prefer to sketch two feeling in 1 mask because it looked unique and I think I don't want to do the same  idea/things like others.  Right side appeal as sad feeling  with theme of black tears while left side appeal as happy feeling and very harmony with flower around it.
4.  The 4th step is dry it using iron. Some of us have no enough time to dry the mask quickly because we were full with orientation day. So, for the time being I prefer to use iron as a catalyst to dry my mask plus, i never have hair dryer . hehe. (ganas takk?)
5. The last step is coloring process. I choose only 3 simple color -silver acrylic, black and white. I felt enjoyable and happy  when doing this process because it was my 1st time doing the 'weird thing/ papier mache' with tissues stick on the face. At the same time, I felt quite sad because it need to submit by tomorrow and did not dry enough. :(

'THE TETRAMEANINGTISM'

Assalamualaikum and hello guys !

PROJECT TITLE : Multiview (03 OCT)
TOPIC TITLE : Sculpture

BEHIND THE SCENE....
duration : 7 days. But it took only 1 night after mis-cut the board.

medium used : mounting board (white and black color ), texture paper, knife, hot glue gun,
                           steel ruler. T-square.

1. Cut the mounting board into 4 section. (main section) . 2 section for the curved and the rest for the base.

2. Cut another 18 sections to produce a line-shaped object and stick together with the curves.

3. I prefer to choose white color for my sculpture. White is white. It's hard to find monochrome of white but it's still can be found by using a texture paper. Sometime it appear as silver color and giving a good lighting effect.

REASON WHY DNA INSPIRED ME TO MAKE A SCULPTURE :

  1. HISTORICAL ASPECT : new biology  invention by James D. Watson and Francis  Crick.
  2. SUSTAINABILITY  : The invention that always last forever until the next generation to determine the genetic of all living things.
  3. FEATURES AND PHYSICAL LOOK : It's unique. Sometime it quite confusing - appearing like a wavefront, staircase and even a building.
  4. OTHER REASON : I want to make a different and not going to have a parcel shaped directly. So, i put an element of curve in my sculpture. It's so challenging especially when  going through the next project on how to sketch axonometry.

PROJECT 3B

PROJECT TITLE :  Perspective
TOPIC TITLE  : The Cube
SUBMISSION DATE : 3rd October 2011

picture : instruction of project 3b

For this project, it relates with the previous project which is the use of cube to produce perspective view.

PROCESS..

1. Based on the view of two perspective point, the cube design looked like a 3d object.

2. Top view and side view are quite important to produce perspective image.
3. I prefer to choose perspective (two point) because my arrangement of cubes are complicated. If I choose only one point I can't see the arrangement obviously. Thus, the top and side view need to observe before I construct the image of two point perspective.

medium used : set square, ruler,0.7mm,0.5mmand 0.3mm pencils

perspective projection

result : perspective 2 point

4. Shading process to reveal the source of lighting effect.
medium used : H pencil, HB pencil and 8B pencil

DONE. perspective view and lighting effect.

PROJECT 3A

PROJECT TITLE : Pictorial
TOPIC TITLE : Black Box
SUBMISSION DATE : 30th September 2011

This project required us to do two task at the same time- designing and drawing.

 instruction for project 3A

 1.BOXES.

medium : model paper costing RM2.00 x 8

*this is not a child's play*

2. Orthographic drawing.

Scale : 1cm on cartridge equal to 3cm for real object
last minutes coloring process.

project 2B

PROJECT TITLE : Space & Depth
TOPIC TITLE : Natural Structure
SUBMISSION DATE : 26th September 2011

instruction of project 2b

I've done this project for 3 times.  Only the last one  need to submit. The rest i misinterpret the instructions.

PROCESS..

1 : misinterpret instructions. I choose the theme of snowflakes because it has a lot of geometrical shape.

2.For the time being, i need to do some correction and to limits the time, i prefer to make a large pattern of geometrical shape but it's still in snowflakes geometry. No idea in the last minutes. :D

.snowflake.

DONE about 1 night.

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone.
Now, it's a time to briefing about project two. :)
LAST Monday we were submit our 1st project (previous post) and for the time being,we got a new assignment about structure.

THE BEST ASPECT
of this project is we need to re-sketch HBP building from the angle that may deem appropriate. (read the instruction below)
picture : INSTRUCTION OF PROJECT II

PROCESS :

1. Snap picture of HBP building from the angle that may deem appropriate.
2. Use A3 cartridge,board and  pencils. T-square for borders.
3. In a process to SKETCH, ruler are not allowed.
4. SKETCH the volume first .( shape that joined line and point together)
 -the volume-

5. Shading/Rendering process to represent lighting effect.

-sketching based on the real picture-
-tones : soft shading to give a few lighting effect-

-tones : hard shading /rendering (crosshatching)
